Events and Courses at River Cottage HQ

River Cottage HQ’ - Park Farm - is our base on the Devon/Dorset border, from which we run a wide range of events and courses, including private events.

Each of these is driven by the River Cottage philosophy of self-sufficiency, understanding where our food comes from, and consuming local and seasonal ingredients.

Our day courses are led by expert members of the River Cottage Team, whose knowledge, experience and passion for their subjects make them ideal hosts.

If you don't have time for a day course, you can join us on one of our evening events - each of these is an opportunity to enjoy a feast of the best local and seasonal ingredients from the south-west, accompanied by an explanation of our philosophy, and of where the evening's meal has come from.

Click the 'Evening Events' and 'Day Courses' links above to see our full range, and to purchase tickets. At the bottom of this page is useful information which you might need when visiting us, including links to an accomodation list, our cancellation policy, and the list of wine and drinks available on the events. If you would like any further information about what we do, please email events@rivercottage.net

Private Events

To complement our range of public River Cottage courses, we can now organise a private event for you and your family, friends or colleagues. Visit our Private Events Homepage for more information.

Useful Information

Wine/drinks: We are a licensed venue, and can provide a wide selection of organic wines starting at £10 per bottle, or champagne for special occasions. We also run a Bring Your Own policy, with no corkage charge. In addition, we serve complimentary, locally-made cordial and iced spring water from our own artesean well.

Cakes: If you are celebrating a special occasion and would like a cake, our chefs won't be able to make you one, but you are very welcome to bring your own homemade cake with candles etc.

Tipping: We appreciate the generous spirit in which gratuities have sometimes been left for the River Cottage Team by our guests. However, we would like to make it clear that such additional rewards are absolutely not expected. To remove any ambiguity about this, we will in future be donating any money left as "tips" to our chosen charity - which is currently Rural Revival.

Accommodation: If you need local accommodation, please click here for a list of hotels and bed & breakfasts, recommended to us by our guests (the accommodation list will be automatically emailed to you once you have booked). We don’t have camping facilities ourselves, but for information on local campsites and self-catering accommodation, you can call the Lyme Regis Tourist Information Centre on 01297 442 138, Axminster Tourist Information Centre on 01297 34386, or Seaton Tourist Information Centre  on 01297 21660, any of whom will be happy to help.

Taxi Advice: As we are in a fairly rural location, it can sometimes prove to be difficult to get taxis – therefore we would highly recommend that you book in advance, and obtain a quote. Click here for a list of taxi firms local to River Cottage HQ.

Please note:

Before you place a booking, please be aware of our cancellation and refund policy

We regularly add new dates and courses, but if you would like to be notified of new dates for any of the "SOLD OUT" courses, please go to that event or course, and register to be kept informed of future dates. Our newsletter will inform you of new events and courses.
