  • River Cottage Fishing Club

Welcome to the new River Cottage Fishing Club!

Fishing is part of the fabric of River Cottage HQ. Our Catch and Cook course was one of the first developed, the perfect combination of land and sea, catching and cooking what you eat. We have had literally hundreds of keen fishermen boarding our little River Cottage boats, in hopeful anticipation of landing a few mackerel and pollack, or even bass and bream. Fishing is a brilliant combination of team playing, but also a solo sport as you gaze longingly in to the water willing the fish onto the hook, and it can get competitive - in the nicest possible way of course!

If you have been on one of our Catch and Cooks, have photos from the day, and want them recorded for posterityin our gallery, send them over to events@rivercottage.net with your name. We really look forward to receiving your photos - we know there must be some fantastic ones out there!

Do you think you might have beaten Paul with his 7lb Pollack, or Rob Love with his 8¼lb Sea Bass? Rob, who works with us at HQ, is very confident he has caught the largest Bass of the year!

If you would like to enter the Largest Catch League Table, please include the weight of your catch when you send in your photos.

If you have the fishing part 'licked' but want to learn all about preparing, filleting and cooking British fish, you might want to try our brand new Introduction to Fish Skills and Cookery course.
