We are thrilled to announce an exciting addition to our summer events calendar. On Saturday 14th June, I'll be hosting The River Cottage Spring into Summer Food Fair and Multiple Spit Roast, here at RCHQ. If it sounds like a bit of a mouthful, well, that's rather the idea.

We'll be aiming to fill you up with a range of seasonal delights, much of which will be created from our very own produce - the finest vegetables, fruit and meat raised by the passionate and talented land team here at River Cottage HQ. Some familiar River Cottage faces, including our 'Chicken Whisperer' Pammy Riggs, and Mushroom Master John Wright will be there, along with our favourite local food producers who will be setting up stalls, and peddling their wares.

Besides our own spit roast goat, lamb and pig, there'll be a whole raft of cooking demonstrations and rural activities to watch and get involved in, from basket weaving and bread-making to building your own smoker and even starting a wormery! Plus to make sure appetites are hearty, and everything goes with a swing, there'll be lashings of organic beer and cider and live music from a stomping local band.

 Most importantly, we'd also like you to join in the food fun - by bringing a box of your own home grown or home made goodies along for the day. These will all be put towards our special 'Haggle and Barter Produce Exchange', where you can swap your produce for someone else's, or make an offer for anything that takes your fancy. All the money raised at this stand will go to our chosen charity, Rural Revival.

Entrance for the day is just £9 per adult, and children under 12 (up to 2 per adult) are completely free. Incidentally, we'll be filming the event for the new River Cottage series. The number of tickets will be limited, so please book early! I'm really hoping to see you there.

 

Location: This course is run from River Cottage HQ on the Dorset/Devon border. Full address details for RCHQ will be provided once you have booked.

Food: There will be lunch and refreshments available to buy throughout the day which is not included within the ticket price.

Wine/drink: We are a licensed venue. We have a wide selection of organic wines and our own Stinger Beer available to buy. We will be serving organic cordial and iced water from our own well.

We dont have camping facilities ourselves, but for information on local campsites and self-catering accommodation, you can call the Lyme Regis Tourist Information Centre on 01297 442 138, Axminster Tourist Information Centre on 01297 34386, or Seaton Tourist Information Centre on 01297 21660, any of whom will be happy to help.

Time: 11.00am - 3.00pm.
